Reports filtering in from Khandala suggest that the Shilpa Shetty-Raj Kundra sangeet on Saturday night was one rollicking affair.
The actual marriage yesterday was a quiet and solemn ceremony. But people are still talking about the Saturday night fever in the hills.
It began with the mehendi in the morning. Shilpa, naturally, had an ‘R’ inscribed on her mehendied palms for Raj to discover at the function in her friend Kiran Bawa’s bungalow. Then, dhin-chak followed in the evening as the sangeet got underway to a riotous Bollywood beat!
Bridesmaid Shamita Shetty danced to elder sister Shilpa’s songs. Along with newcomer Jackky Bhagnani, Shamita performed a skit in which she played Shilpa and Jackky did his best to act as the reticent Raj. Kiran and her brother got into the act as well and played Shilpa’s parents.
Then came the dancing choreographed by Ganesh Hegde in which the groom moonwalked to Michael Jackson’s numbers and also danced like Saif Ali Khan to Aahun Aahun from Love Aaj Kal. The grand finale had the bride shaking her famous booty with the rest of the baraati to Om Shanti Om. The excitement shifts to Mumbai tomorrow for the grand reception.
